The SuperMom Myth

I thought it pretty fitting to talk about this right before Mother’s Day because I’m a Mom, and I want to speak to not only all of the Moms out there, but to all women.
I serve many women and I see dozens of women every day.  Women are my ministry. And it is an every day occurrence that women come into my treatment room and they talk about how tired they are. They talk about how stressed out they are. They talk about how they wish they had more help. They talk about how depressed they are. How sad they are. They talk about how overwhelmed they are. How fat they feel. How their bodies are just ugly and undesirable. They apologize for everything.
And so I do my usual probing and ask questions, and I can tell you that 100% of the time the problem is that these women are putting everyone and everything else first. They are not having regular sex. They are not having daily orgasm. They work and they are exhausted. And they are trying to be supermom. They are absolutely putting themselves and their orgasm LAST on the list.
I am here to tell you that if you continue to try to be supermom you are going to find yourself either in an early grave or in a crazy house, or worse…strung out on antidepressants and very sad.
I want you tphotoo hear me really clearly when I say:
1) You can not do it all.
2) You must get help for the things that you need help doing.
3) You must ask for help when you need it.
4) You must learn to receive the help when you get it without guilt.
5) You must put yourself and your happiness above everything and everyone else in your life.
6) You must come from a place of surplus in order to give fully to your life and your loved ones.
You giving away all of who you are out to The world is only going to tear you down until there is nothing left of you but a shell of a person. I know because I have been there. You are serving no one when you do not honor the needs and desires of your body your mind and your soul.
It all begins with truth telling, and getting really honest with yourself about how you are treating YOU. Are you treating yourself and taking care of yourself? Or are you neglecting yourself and completely detached from who you are at a soul level?
Stop trying to do it all. It is not possible.
So I want to encourage you to be gentle with yourself this weekend. Be loving towards yourself this weekend. And do something really special for yourself that makes you feel amazing.
You deserve it❤️❤️❤️
